AirVenture is without a doubt
the world's largest aviation event. Held each July in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, USA, this event
is a must-see for aviation fanatics the world over. Warbirds are always a large part of
the show, and we spent a lot of time photographing the action. Here are some glimpses of
the warbird scene at Oshkosh 2001.
Warbird owners often have the best seats in the house for the
airshow. In this case, it's Sea Fury NX13HP.
The early-morning mist, coupled with the
presence of re-enactors dressed in period uniforms, lent an eerie atmosphere to the
flightline on Sunday morning.
1944 North American P-51D "Su Su," NL850AH (s/n
44-84850), formerly owned by astronaut Frank Borman and now owned and flown by Alan
Anderson, taxies into the parking area following the Sunday afternoon airshow.
