
F4U-5 Corsair N179PT catches the late afternoon sun.

The tail turret of a B-17 was a very lonesome
place for wartime aircrew members, many of whom spent countless long, cold hours over
enemy territory in this tiny place.

Liaison aircraft and their crews have been the unsung heroes of every war. It's
always nice to see well-restored examples -- in this case, Piper L-4 Grasshopper NC55754.
