The last time most Oshkosh
visitors saw the P-38 Lightning known as "Glacier Girl," in the early 1990s, she was
a wreck, having been recently recovered from under 250 feet of Greenland
ice. This year, she flew in for a return visit, and it was a truly
memorable sight. (The aircraft's original instrument panel was on display
in the glass case at right.)
