For two years now, Mustang co-owners Bill Yoak and Paul Hunter have displayed their gorgeous P-51D "Quicksilver," at Oshkosh, opening it to literally thousands of visitors and actually encouraging people to "touch gently." In a further generous and patriotic gesture, this year they relocated the airplane to the Theater in the Woods for an evening performance of actor Gary Sinise's Lt. Dan Band. The airplane was lit from underneath, and certainly made a dramatic sight that was enjoyed by everyone. Putting a P-51 Mustang into the middle of a swarming crowd at a rock concert was perhaps the most overwhelming display of faith, goodwill, and genuine friendliness this writer has ever seen. Thank you, Mr. Yoak and Mr. Hunter, for your willingness to share your lovely airplane with the attendees.
